A mere 3 coffee day. It’s good to cut back once in a while.

_______________

There will always be something to complain about. Take an extra moment and find something to be grateful about instead. It’s worth your time.

_______________

Productivity comes to me like the tide. When the tide is IN I am so prductive it’s nearly manic. When the tide is OUT I am getting nothing done.

Galaxyland at W.E.M. is like outer space. It’s hard to breathe.

_______________

Opportunity excites me. To build new things and work with new people is a thrill I quite enjoy.

_______________

Everyone has their own flavour.

_______________

I love Costco and Amazon. Not to buy things mind you. The near endless online browsing relaxes me like few other activities.

_______________

Adults are just old kids with bills.

_______________

Few things eat away at your soul faster than a family dinner.

If she doesn’t remember me is that not for the best?

_______________

One thing per day. It’s how we grow…and shrink.

_______________

Life is fast but breathing can be slow.

_______________

I don’t always seek the negative but it often shouts at me the loudest.

_______________

Finding time versus making time. One is an excuse while the other is a decision.

_______________

Time may be finite but it doesn’t mean your actions need to be.

_______________

Self-care is key. It’s not selfish to eat when you’re hungry.

_______________

Finding your groove is as much about how you feel inside as present yourself outside. Life is a balance of each and it makes me feel stronger when I find a new groove. I’ll ride this one for a while.

Is it a matter of economy or convenience that we use either hand soap or a bar of soap in our bathroom. Here’s my thinking on the matter.

  1. Cost. A bar of soap has a set cost and a set size while a liquid soap will be ‘dispensed’ in a set measure.
  2. Packaging. With a soap dispenser, there is some material left inside the container when the uptake tube can no longer achieve the necessary liquid tension to create a vacuum. Although if you are refilling the container then there is not really any ‘waste’ from this perspective. if you are using a disposable soap dispenser then there is definitely a value that is wasted.
  3. Usage. With a soap bar, you use as much, or as little, as you need to create the amount of lather your task requires for completion. The rapidity with which the lather forms will depend on your method and skin/hair texture but the point is that this final amount is under your control. A soap dispenser has a set volume that is dispensed with each pump. You can not complete a full pump to get a reduced amount of soap dispensed, but this is not the common usage.
  4. Water. With a liquid soap, you turn on the tap, wet one hand and gather your soap via the dispenser with the other hand. The water is still ‘warming up” and sometimes is not very hot before your task is fully complete. The advantage here is less overall water usage. With a soap bar, the initial steps are similar. The biggest difference is in the length of time it can take to form the lather, rub, then rinse. With a bar, there is often a longer elapsed time for this process which can result in more water usage.

Of course, there is the medically established rule of 30 seconds, or sing aloud the song twinkle, twinkle little star. The desired manner of hand rubbing also includes between fingers, under nails, etc. I am assuming that the method of ‘friction’ is the same for both liquid and bar soaps for this comparison.

So the liquid method may use more soap but the bar method may use more water.

With all of the above information in mind do I have an answer to my question? I’m not sure. It may be a wash. ;)
